New York Gift Fair Recap

A week and a half ago, my husband and I got up bright and early and settled into our loaded car for the 5 hour drive to New York City. My stomach was in knots, wondering what the next few days would hold.

Our arrival, unloading, booth set up, and 4 days at the show were not without obstacles (lots of them). The whole experience was terrifying, exhausting, and challenging, but also inspiring and wonderful. I feel so very grateful and overwhelmed by the response we got from so many buyers.

Over the next few months you'll find us in shops in Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Illinois, Virginia, Delaware, North Carolina, Arizona, California, Washington, Puerto Rico, Australia and Finland.  I'm so excited for what the future holds for this little business.

Here are some pictures of our week:
Thursday : Arrival : Traffic getting to our hotel! So glad I brought my husband to do the driving.
Friday : Setup : Floor down, tables set up, waiting on the electrician while we work on the walls.
Friday : Setup : Finished! So happy with the final booth! We had to make some last-minute changes, but overall it was exactly what I wanted it to be.
Friday : Setup : The black walls weren't planned, but luckily they looked great with my display.
Saturday : Show Day 1 : Busy, busy, busy. I got lucky and had a bathroom just steps from my booth, so I could sneak away when I needed to.
Saturday : Show Day 1 : My (mostly) hidden messy area for order forms, line sheets, calculator, stapler, mints, chapstick, etc.
Sunday : Show Day 2 : Best thing about day 2? I got a chair in my booth and was able to sit down for a few minutes when traffic was slow!!!
Monday : Show Day 3 : Ran out of postcards, and had to send my husband to get more. Thank goodness for Staples same-day printing!
Tuesday : Show Day 4 : Slower day, and my energy was waning. Spent more time in my corner chair on this day.
Tuesday : Breakdown After Show : Amazing how the booth comes apart so quickly!
Tuesday : Breakdown After Show : All packed up and waiting while poor Rob fights traffic to get the car to the Javits Center for loading.
Tuesday : Breakdown After Show : Goodbye Booth 5008!
Tuesday : Breakdown After Show : Back in my comfy boots, heading home to make lots and lots of jewelry!
